Barclays secures Premier League Global Title Sponsorship

Barclays today announced that it has renewed its global title sponsorship of the Premier League.
The enhanced deal, worth £65.8m, runs from season 2007/08 through to the 2009/10 season.
In addition to securing the Premier League global title sponsorship rights Barclays will also sponsor the Premier League’s official Pre-Season Tournament, the Premier League Asia Trophy.
To mark the occasion this weekend Barclays will randomly select two season ticket holders from all 20 Barclays Premiership clubs and pay for their season tickets until 2010 when the new deal ends.

Gary Hoffman, Barclays Vice-Chairman, said: “By the end of this new sponsorship the Barclays Group will have been Premier League sponsors for nine years from 2001 to 2010 showing our long-term commitment to the game.”
Premier League Chief Executive, Richard Scudamore, said: “Barclays commitment to the Premier League has been unstinting and this latest deal will make Barclays Group our longest serving title sponsor.
“In that time the Premier League has continued to grow and develop both domestically and internationally, which has matched Barclays own business plan and aspirations.
“I look forward to continuing the excellent relationship we have built up over the previous six years and am particularly pleased that this new deal encompasses our highly successful pre-season tournament, the Premier League Asia Trophy.”

The deal is for the global title sponsorship of the Premier League and includes exclusive world-wide marketing rights, UK and international TV programme credits and branding in 204 countries, an extensive advertising package which covers perimeter boards, interview backdrops, match programmes exclusive awards and a significant amount of tickets and hospitality.
Barclays has been sponsor of the Premier League for the last three seasons. Before that Barclaycard, the credit card part of the Group, was sponsor from 2001-2004.
